As I was called out by someone I had never met before last night, I realized how the power of the one is so essential in The Plan. Big shout out to Sabrina Page for letting me know you were looking forward to another post this week! I don’t know if I would have blogged this week if it was not for that inspirational conversation with you. Love ya!
So, guess what? I am a huge numbers person. I love numbers! Therefore, I oftentimes think about numbers. I have always enjoyed anything to do with arithmetics: mental math, budgeting, calculating, et cetera. And, to be honest, it sometimes gets to be a bit of a problem. Sometimes I think about people as more of intangible figures (similar to a numbers) than souls – than someone with worth greater than all the precious stones on the planet combined.
I have been blessed with so many wonderful people in my life, and somehow it seems that almost every day I am able to open up to someone new and share with them a small portion of my great big testimony. I always carry a prayer in my heart that those conversations spark something good in the spirit of the one. How important do we feel when someone we know, whether we just barely met them or whether we have known them for years, takes the time to have a loving one on one conversation with us? How do we feel when they say the exact thing we needed to hear it in the exact moment we needed to hear it? We feel pretty loved, don’t we? Not only do we feel loved by that person speaking with us, but we feel loved by our Father, because we were reaffirmed that He loves us so much that He pays close attention to every detail of our lives enough to tell us what we need to hear by way of His Holy Spirit at just the perfect moment. But, let’s go back to the one – the one receiving the loving counsel, yes, but also the one prayerfully providing it. Who does that make you think of? I think of my Brother Jesus Christ. I have such an intimate with that man – that Son of God – that I know I would recognize Him if I saw His face. Him and I have had plenty of our own one on ones, and I am grateful that He takes the time to be with me when I need Him to be. But, without going too much off subject here, I will say that has definitely not always been the case. I don’t know if Him and I would have such a close relationship if I was not trying to strengthen my bonds all around me. Perhaps I can more easily feel His presence in my life, because I try to, with the companionship of His Holy Spirit, have a greater presence with all those in my life. Basically, as we emanate His love, devotion, and friendship, we recognize that from Him in our own lives far more often. What a blessing!
Do we ever think we do not have the time for one on ones, whether they be with our individual children, a friend, an extended family member, an acquaintance, or someone we feel inspired to confront for one reason or another? I sure hope not. I am a true witness that when we take the time to love one of God’s children enough to dedicate all of our attention to him/her in the very moment we are called by Him to do so, we are somehow miraculously blessed with the time we need to take care of what we need to still take care of. The Lord always keeps His promises. Therefore, it is up to us to listen to His calls, so we can help Him carry out His promises to others, and also that we may trust that He will extend our days that we can accomplish what He needs us to do, and what we righteously desire to do. Because Christ saw your face, my face, your neighbor’s face, my friend’s face, your sister’s face, my husband’s face, your brother’s face, my daughter’s face, that man on the street with the sign’s face, the woman with the tattered clothes’ face, and the crying child’s face, He cared about the one. He loved the one in such an infinite way that He knew his/her name from the beginning – yours/my name. If Christ paved the way for us all to do the Lord’s work with as much exactness as Him, than shall we not love the one just as much as He does?
All that being said, thank you again, Sabrina, for reminding me how important the one is in our Heavenly Father’s perfect eternal plan. What an excellent teacher you are!
