It’s been a while since I wrote one of these, but the last time I did, it was a bit much. I am so grateful that so much has changed since then! Last time I wrote one of these entries I was struggling to even feed my baby. Now, I have more blessings then I can keep track of! And to think it has only been a few months! Well, let me first start out by saying that I have been trying something a bit new, and it has already been paying off, and way sooner than I expected it to. I recently heard of a testimony of a late man who had paid more than ten percent of his tithing in hopes to make that correct amount the following year, in which he did. It didn’t say how it happened, just that it happened. Well, that was enough evidence for me. I put it to the test myself. After all, I have come to the knowledge that God is in fact capable of anything. So, I decided that making maybe $100 a month on average was not sufficient, but was in some miraculous way enough to help me provide for my child and me. None the less, I was putting most of that income into tithing, and trying hard to sell off whatever I could in order to make more. I had a goal of putting $2,000 in tithing this year, so as to make $20,000 next year (quite a large increase in my income). So, after paying less than $500 in tithing in this year of 2016, the Lord already blessed me – many months before I expected Him to! It truly is a miracle. I had no idea how I was going to be able to stay home and raise my baby, while building up His kingdom on the earth through missionary work, while making $20,000 a year, but I had faith, and that was enough. When you believe – when you know the Lord will deliver, and you refuse to lower your standards, He truly does support you.
Last week I was granted with the opportunity of helping out a friend with her online business. She lives a twenty minute walk away from my current place of living, she has space in her fridge for my daughter’s milk, and place in her home for her Pack n’ Play. I get to still be the one who raises my child while working for ten dollars an hour, and forty hours a week. Once Wesley gets sentenced, I get my laptop back, which means I will be able to take care of my missionary desires during the days that I am working. And you can do the math. Ten times forty is four hundred, four hundred times fifty-two weeks in a year is twenty thousand eight hundred dollars. Can you believe it!? That is a miracle from the Lord! He is blessing me for my desire to stay home and raise Coraleen no matter WHAT, and He is already blessing me for my faith in and reliance upon Him. I didn’t use my own abilities to figure this all out, I utilized His power to do it. If we could all know that He will deliver, without fail, while allowing us the opportunity of doing what we love, then we would all be so much happier. We don’t have to believe we must conform to the depressing beliefs that have been formed over time, of needing to make all sorts of sacrifices we don’t want to in hopes that we someday may have something similar to what we really want.
And remember, if you want a pay raise, pay more tithing!!
